Airnorth

Airnorth is the major regional aviation operator in Northern Australia. Based in Darwin, the company operates 156 scheduled departures weekly, servicing eight destinations including, Maningrida, Milingimbi, Elcho Island, Gove, Groote Eylandt, Kununurra, Broome and Perth in Western Australia, Mount Isa and Coolangatta in Queensland and Dili in Timor-Leste and uplifting more than 220, 000 passengers annually. In addition to these scheduled departures Airnorth operates charter services for a wide variety of companies undertaking mining, defence and government activity. Airnorth directly employs more than 180 staff in Darwin and provides indirect employment through the contracting of ground service operations across all its destinations.

Airnorth has formed a corporate alliance with Qantas Airways which includes the hosting of all flights in the Amadeus system, inclusion in the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, electronic ticketing and baggage checks, joint marketing activities and participation in a joint training program for Qantas aircrew. Airnorth was the first airline to establish services to Dili, Timor-Leste during the political uprising in 1999 and is currently conducting 10 scheduled services per week. Airnorth also provides support to humanitarian organisations providing aid in Timor through special fares and waivers to excess luggage charges. Airnorth, together with with Angel Flight Australia, coordinates free-of-charge air travel for medically and financially needy patients.
