The first flights from Athens to Heraklion and Thessaloniki are performed by 2 new aircraft JET AVRO RJ 100 manufactured by BAE Systems (British Aerospace). Aegean Airlines launches e-ticket (paperless ticket), a new modern service that offers the opportunity of booking and issuing a ticket at the same time. Aegean is the first and only Greek airline to offer e-ticket. Aegean Airlines expands its network, in Greece and in Europe, by adding 3 new destinations, Chios, Kos and Milan.
